Thank You gift for my little girls teacher x

 

Well, my little princess finished her reception year this week! And to be honest I cannot believe it! The whole year has gone so quickly!

Anyway, instead of a thank you card, I suggested that I could create something extra special for the teacher.

So I cut some large paper butterflies and sat with each child (31 of them) individually and asked them to write their name on a butterfly. They also had a choice if they wanted to decorate it or write a message to their teacher.

I bought a large A3 size canvas and painted it first. Then decoupaged it and then painted again :-)

I used glue dots to stick the large butterflies on to the canvas and hot glue to stick on various embellishements. I used acrylic paints on the canvas. The writing was done with stamps. I wanted to create a very "crafty" feel as the teacher loves crafts too!!

I presented the canvas to her earlier this week and we both cried. She even whispered into my ear that it is the best and loveliest present she has ever been given during her career as a teacher.

I really hoped that she would like it and infact I think she loved it!

I'm loving Pinterest!

I only just discovered Pinterest couple of days ago but seriously how cool is that site!

I've pinned stuff and started to follow few people. It's like a never ending labyrinth of information and ideas.

It's free and so much fun. I think I will spend hours and hours there looking for some gardening tips, nice recipes, home interiors and just loads of other stuff...

I am also going to put my finnspirations product there, hoping that I can generate some sales through that as well.

New Start....

Well, I guess it was only a matter of time when a big business like Ebay was going to force me to start selling elsewhere.

The fees are just getting so mad that there really is no profit left after everything you pay to Ebay and Paypal.

So I have decided to try to find some other selling platforms for my items. The only thing is that I also sell items which are not made by me, but which I have bough purely for a resale purposes. It is difficult to find a place other than Ebay where you can successfully sell such items.

I am going to try Amazon, although it seems to be a bit complicated to set up, but "oh well" I'll give it a go!!

I also decided that I will list my items here on my blog and anyone who is interested can contact me via my email suvihelander@hotmail.com and I will process the orders through Paypal as normal.

So if anyone else out there is having issues with Ebay and is looking for some new places to sell, let me know and maybe we can share our ideas!

Just one of the beautiful Lars Carlsson Christmas prints which I will have available through my shop. I remember these from my childhood - they are just magical!!

 

Starting up

Finnspirations is a newly established business, specialising mainly handmade Scandinavian homeware and decorations.  I am from Finland and wanted to be able to bring this factor into my business. At the moment I am concentrating in stocking up my Christmas range, so keep looking and I will post pictures of the items I have for sale!

I am planning to do some Christmas Fairs and Charity sales before Christmas, so lets hope everyone will love these Scandinavian items I will bring to you all!!
